Keybank Foundation Funds Kulshan Community Land Trust
KeyBank Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to Kulshan Community Land Trust to help launch Kulshan CLT's homeownership education and homebuyer assistance programs. Kulshan CLT is a local non-profit corporation, working as a community partner for permanent affordable homeownership solutions.
"At KeyBank, we look for ways to make homeownership possible because we believe the promotion of affordable housing is one of the most important investments we, as a bank, can make in the communities we serve," said Fred Holubik, Senior Vice President for Business Banking in Key's Bellingham District. "Kulshan CLT's homeownership programs make sense for Whatcom County, and we're delighted to be a part of this exciting new initiative."
KeyBank and KeyBank Foundation have a long-standing commitment to affordable housing and homeownership. Last year, KeyBank received an "outstanding" rating for its Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) lending practices, the highest possible rating from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
"Kulshan CLT aims to keep homeownership affordable, even when the housing market climbs further out of reach for local families," said Paul Schissler, Executive Director for the nonprofit.
Kulshan CLT Board of Trustees includes Greg Winter, President, Bill Sterling, Vice-President, Sharon Robinson, Treasurer, Kelly Mulford, Secretary, with Reco Barnett and Danne Neill rounding out the six-member Board.
