During 2002 Kulshan CLT...
- Hired staff. Welcome Benjamin Ernst, Membership and Outreach Developer. Benjamin will be with us for one year as an Americorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). Give him a call at 671-5600 if you have any questions about membership, volunteering, or outreach or email benernst@kclt.org.
- Has been offering free HomeBuyer Education Courses about every six weeks. For an upcoming schedule, check our calendar or call 671-5600.
- Hosted a very successful second annual HomeOwnership Fair in June
- Assisted five first time homebuyers purchase homes in Whatcom County.
- Has obligated most of our available funding for downpayment gap assistance through our HomeBuyer driven program. Now is the time to get on the waiting list for the new round of funding.
- Embarked on a 6 month strategic planning process. In the spring of 2003 we will unveil our new 3-5 year plan. There should be new and exciting ways to get involved.
- Sponsored a team for the Bellingham Traverse - Team "Dual Tenure" raised over $350, placed 10th in their division, and had a fabulous time running, biking, and kayaking in and around Bellingham.
In the next six months Kulshan CLT will...
- Plan and host a number of volunteer work parties to assist our new homeowners with improvements and beautification of their homes. See calendar for upcoming opportunities.
- Will procure funding for the next round of HomeBuyer Driven purchases. Call Erika to get on the waiting list for financial assistance to purchase a home.
